KATHMANDU: Toyota has unveiled the Urban Cruiser Ebella, a new electric SUV for the Indian market. The model is based on the Maruti Suzuki and Vitara.
The Urban Cruiser Ebella shares the same platform and body shell as the e Vitara. It is a badge-engineered model with several design changes.
At the front, the Ebella gets wraparound headlamps with segmented LED DRLs. The front bumper design is also different. At the rear, it features L-shaped taillamps connected by a light bar.
Inside, the SUV uses the same dashboard layout as the e Vitara. It comes with a dual-screen setup.

Key features include automatic climate control, a wireless charger, a powered driver’s seat, and a sunroof. It also offers a JBL audio system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.
For India, the Urban Cruiser Ebella will be offered with two battery options. These are 49 kWh and 61 kWh units.
The 49 kWh version produces 142 BHP and 189 Nm of torque. The 61 kWh version delivers 172 BHP and 189 Nm.
Toyota will offer the Ebella in five monotone and four dual-tone color options.
The electric SUV comes with an 8-year battery warranty. Toyota is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service option and a 60 percent assured buyback in the local market.
