KATHMANDU: Chery Automobile has officially launched its first all-electric pickup truck, the Hilma EV, also known as the Rely R08. The model was unveiled in China on January 27, 2026.

The Hilma EV is offered in six variants. Prices range from about USD 18,300 to 22,700. It is Chery’s first pure electric pickup under the Hilma brand.

The pickup uses a body-on-frame chassis. It is available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.

In terms of design, the Hilma EV features a bold front fascia. It gets a large polygonal grille with black honeycomb elements. The RELY logo sits on the front edge of the hood.

The pickup comes in standard box and long box versions. The standard model measures 5,330 mm in length, while the long box extends to 5,610 mm. Cargo bed length is 1,530 mm on the standard version and 1,810 mm on the long box. Both offer the same width and height.

Inside, the Hilma EV features a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Depending on the variant, it gets either a 12.3-inch or 15.6-inch central touchscreen. Higher trims include advanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.

Power comes from an all-electric drivetrain. The single-motor RWD version produces 150 kW and 350 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. The dual-motor AWD variant delivers 300 kW and 540 Nm, cutting the sprint time to 5.0 seconds.

Battery options include 66.54 kWh and 88 kWh packs. Claimed driving range goes up to 510 km, depending on the configuration.

Chery has not confirmed any right-hand-drive (RHD) launch plan for the Hilma EV. However, the group has previously explored Malaysia as an RHD export hub, indicating potential future RHD production.

In Nepal, Chery Group brands Omoda, Jaecoo, and iCaur are officially sold by SPG Automobiles.
