2026 Tata Punch.ev launched in India

KATHMANDU: Tata Motors has launched the updated Punch.ev in India at an introductory price of Rs 969,000 Indian rupees(ex-showroom). The electric SUV is positioned between the Tiago.ev and the Nexon.ev in the company’s EV portfolio.

Customers can also choose the Battery-as-a-Service option. Under this model, the car is priced at Rs 649,000 Indian rupees , while battery usage is charged at 2.6 Indian rupees per km.

The updated Punch.ev gets a refreshed front design. It features new LED DRLs linked by a black strip, triangular headlamp pods and a revised front bumper. The rear design remains close to the petrol version, with updated LED tail-lamps and a full-width light bar.

Inside, the electric SUV offers a new two-spoke steering wheel and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It also gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include touch-based air-conditioning controls, ventilated front seats, paddle shifters for regeneration, a 360-degree camera and high-beam assist.

In terms of safety, the Punch.ev comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, hill-start assist and an i-TPMS system.

The facelifted model is available with a new 40 kWh battery pack. It delivers an ARAI-certified range of 468 km, while the real-world C75 range is rated at 355 km. The battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 26 minutes using a 65 kW DC fast charger. A 15-minute charge adds up to 135 km of driving range.

A smaller 30 kWh battery option is also offered. It delivers an ARAI-certified range of 365 km. Both versions use a single front-mounted electric motor.

The motor produces 127 bhp and allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under nine seconds. The car offers City, Eco and Sport drive modes, along with four levels of regenerative braking.

The company is offering a lifetime, unlimited-kilometer warranty on the battery pack for Indian customers.
