KATHMANDU: Sipradi-Yatri has hinted that its first Nepal-made electric scooter, the Yatri P2, is ready for launch. The company released a teaser on its official social media pages, signaling that the scooter has entered its final stage before reaching the market.

The teaser shows the scooter fully covered. However, spy images of the P2 undergoing road testing in Jiri had surfaced a few days earlier, offering an early glimpse of the upcoming model.

Development of the P2 gained momentum after Sipradi Trading invested in Yatri Motorcycles. The company says it is now preparing to introduce the scooter to customers soon.

In a social media post, Yatri described the P2’s journey as a long one. The company said the project has involved thousands of kilometers of testing, countless late nights, and continuous refinement by its engineering team. It also confirmed that the P2 has now entered the pre-production stage.

Although the launch date has not been announced, the production version is expected to debut at the NADA Auto Show 2026. The latest teaser also points towards an unveiling in the near future.

The P2 has been spotted several times during testing around the hills surrounding Kathmandu. Based on the images, the scooter features a sporty design with sharp body lines and a muscular front and rear profile.

The scooter appears to use a mid-mounted electric motor, similar to the configuration shown in earlier teasers. It also features a wide seat, a blue Yatri badge below the seat, 12-inch alloy wheels, an aluminum swingarm, and dual rear spring suspension. The wide floorboard suggests a practical riding position while maintaining a sporty character.
