KATHMANDU: Hyundai has launched the new Ioniq V electric sedan in China, with prices starting at USD 16,400. The model is expected to enter other global markets later.
The Ioniq V is available in five variants in China, with prices ranging from USD 16,400-20,850 before discounts. The new EV measures 4,900 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,470 mm tall, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. It has a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd.
Inside, the Ioniq V gets a 27-inch dual-screen setup and a head-up display. It also features wireless phone charging, a 15-liter storage compartment and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295-powered infotainment system.
The sedan uses an 800V electrical architecture and is offered with two battery options. The entry-level version gets a 53.5 kWh CATL LFP battery paired with a 140 kW electric motor. It has a claimed range of 540 km under the CLTC cycle.
The long-range version uses a 66.8 kWh CATL LFP battery and a 168 kW motor. It offers up to 650 km of CLTC range.
The Ioniq V also comes with Momenta’s assisted-driving system, including highway Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) functionality.
The model was developed with input from Hyundai’s China Design Center and is expected to be rolled out in international markets.
