KATHMANDU: Honda is set to unveil its upcoming 0 Alpha electric SUV in India on December 2, 2026. The model will mark the Japanese automaker’s entry into India’s mass-market all-electric SUV segment.

First showcased as a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2025, the Honda 0 Alpha has been undergoing road testing in India since March 2026.

Honda plans to manufacture the electric SUV at its Tapukara facility in Rajasthan. The plant is expected to serve both the Indian market and export markets, including Japan.

The production version is expected to retain much of the prototype’s design. It features an upright stance, a tall roof-line, squared-off wheel arches and sleek LED lighting elements.

The design is expected to offer a spacious cabin, following Honda’s ‘Man Maximum, Machine Minimum’ philosophy, which prioritizes passenger space while minimizing the space occupied by mechanical components.

Spy images suggest the cabin could feature a large central touch screen, a separate digital instrument cluster and a multi-function steering wheel.

Honda has not yet disclosed the complete powertrain specifications of the 0 Alpha. Reports suggest the electric SUV could be offered with two battery pack options.

Details such as battery capacity, driving range, motor output and charging performance remain unconfirmed.

The Honda 0 Alpha will enter an increasingly competitive electric SUV market. Its expected rivals include the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, Tata Sierra EV and Mahindra BE 6.
