KATHMANDU: The MG Motor has revealed the first official glimpse of the upcoming MG 07. The new model is expected to compete with electric sedans like the Xiaomi SU7 and BYD Seal.
The MG 07 follows a fastback design similar to the MG7, but it will be built on a completely new electric vehicle platform. The car features a sporty profile with frameless doors, semi-flush door handles, and a three-stage active rear spoiler.
One of the key upgrades is the addition of a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, which will support advanced driver assistance systems designed for Level 2+ urban navigation.

The MG 07 is expected to be based on SAIC Nebula Platform, which supports an 800V high-voltage architecture. The platform is designed to accommodate different battery chemistries, including LFP and NCM.
In terms of size, the MG 07 is expected to measure 4,900 mm in length with a 2,850 mm wheelbase, making it slightly larger than the current MG7 sedan.
Reports suggest the model may be offered in both pure electric and plug-in hybrid variants, with pricing in the Chinese market expected to start at around $23,000 for the PHEV version, while the fully electric flagship could reach about $32,000.
