KATHMANDU:Hyundai is preparing to launch 26 new models in India by 2030. The upcoming lineup will include the next-generation Creta, a new i10 and a new electric SUV.
The company announced the plan during its 2026 CEO Investor Day in Seoul, South Korea. The next-generation Creta is already undergoing road testing in India.
The new Creta is expected to be larger than the current model and could feature a new design and updated technology. It is also likely to use Hyundai’s K3 platform, which supports multiple powertrain options.
The next-generation Creta could continue with the existing 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines. Hyundai is also expected to introduce a strong-hybrid powertrain with the new model.
The test vehicle appears longer, wider and taller than the current Creta. It is expected to get a longer wheelbase, a more upright design and a redesigned interior with larger digital displays and updated connectivity features.
Details about the next-generation i10 remain limited. The new hatchback is expected to use a new platform and could be offered with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine.
Hyundai is also developing a new compact electric SUV for the Indian market. The A-segment EV is scheduled to debut in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The new electric SUV is expected to be offered with multiple battery options. It will also feature Hyundai’s Pleos infotainment system and Level 2 advanced driver assistance system. It is expected to compete with the Tata Punch.ev.
The new Creta and the upcoming electric SUV could be of particular interest to the Nepali market, especially as Hyundai continues to expand its EV and hybrid lineup.
