KATHMANDU: The Tatopani border point between Nepal and China will reopen for three days starting today, October 18, after remaining closed for around one and a half months.
The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies issued a press note announcing that the border point will remain open from October 18 to October 20, 2026.
However, the reopening is limited to cargo vehicles. Other vehicles and general passenger movement have not been included in the arrangement.
China had unilaterally closed the border point on August 30, citing the risk of floods and landslides. Since then, the Nepal government has made several attempts to reopen the crossing, but China had not agreed to resume operations.
