KATHMANDU: TVS Motor’s first adventure motorcycle, the RTX 300, is preparing to enter the Nepali market. Jagdamba Motors, the official distributor of TVS in Nepal, showcased the motorcycle at the recent NAIMA Auto Show and is preparing to begin sales soon.
Built on TVS’s new 300cc engine platform, the RTX 300 is designed for adventure riding and long-distance touring. It combines a powerful engine, modern electronics and touring-focused features.
Here are seven reasons why adventure motorcycle buyers in Nepal should consider waiting for the TVS RTX 300.
- New RT-XD4 engine
The TVS RTX 300 is powered by a 299.1cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve DOHC engine. It produces 35 PS of power at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.
The engine uses dual-cooling technology designed to help manage temperature during long rides while maintaining performance.
- Four riding modes
The motorcycle offers four riding modes: Urban, Rain, Tour and Rally. Riders can select a mode based on road conditions and riding requirements.
These modes are designed to provide flexibility for city commuting, highway touring and off-road riding.

- Bi-Directional quick-shifter and assist clutch
The RTX 300 features a bi-directional quick-shifter that allows riders to shift up and down without using the clutch lever.
It also comes with a slipper and assist clutch. The system reduces clutch effort and helps prevent rear-wheel hopping during aggressive downshifts, improving control during demanding rides.
- Cruise control for long rides
Cruise control is another key feature of the RTX 300. It allows riders to maintain a set speed without continuously operating the throttle.
The feature can help reduce fatigue during long highway journeys, making the motorcycle more suitable for touring.
- Smart 5-inch TFT display
The motorcycle gets a 5-inch color TFT instrument display with TVS SmartXonnect connectivity.
Features include turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, music controls and map mirroring. Smartphone connectivity allows riders to access selected information directly through the instrument console.

- Traction control and switchable ABS
The RTX 300 comes with a traction control system designed to improve stability by managing rear-wheel slip.
It also offers switchable rear ABS, allowing riders to disable the rear-wheel anti-lock braking system when required for off-road riding. This provides more flexibility on loose surfaces, although riders must still adjust their speed and braking to suit the terrain.
- Adventure-ready suspension and ground clearance
The RTX 300 features an inverted WP front fork and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. It rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel.
The motorcycle offers 200 mm of ground clearance, helping it tackle uneven roads and obstacles. Block-pattern tubeless tires are designed to provide grip on different surfaces.
Its suspension setup and ground clearance could make it a practical option for Nepal’s varied road conditions, including rough roads and adventure routes.
