KATHMANDU: Xiaomi has launched the Skynomad N70 range-extended electric SUV in China. The five-seat SUV starts at USD 31,275. The top-spec N70 Max is priced at USD 35,745.
The Skynomad N70 measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width and 1,765 mm in height. It has a 2,950 mm wheelbase, making it 23 mm longer than the Mercedes-Benz GLE.
The SUV is available with 19- and 21-inch wheels. Its exterior features block-style headlights, semi-hidden door handles and a ring-shaped tail light.

The front seats can rotate 180 degrees to face the rear passengers. They also offer 16-point massage and zero-gravity functions. The second-row seats can recline up to 135 degrees. Heating and ventilation are available as standard.
The dashboard features a 16.1-inch central touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 20-inch head-up display. There is no conventional center tunnel between the front seats. Instead, the N70 gets additional storage space and an aisle-like armrest.
Rear passengers get a roof-mounted 21.4-inch entertainment screen and a 9-liter refrigerator. The N70 Pro comes with 14 speakers, while the N70 Max gets a 25-speaker audio system.

The SUV offers up to 1,410 mm of knee room for second-row passengers. Boot capacity stands at 1,203 liters and increases to 2,425 liters with the rear seats folded.
The N70 Max also gets 256-color ambient lighting, a rear control screen and in-car tables. The Skynomad N70 uses an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain.
It gets a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 112 kW (150 hp). The engine works as a generator to supply energy to the battery. The engine supports 92, 95 and 98 RON fuel. Xiaomi claims a maintenance interval of once every three years or 30,000 km.
The N70 Pro uses rear-wheel drive with a 210 kW motor and a 52 kWh LFP battery. It offers 351 km of CLTC electric range and up to 1,351 km of total EREV range.
The N70 Max gets all-wheel drive and a 310 kW motor. It uses a 76 kWh NMC battery and offers 505 km of CLTC electric range. Its total EREV range is rated at 1,461 km.
The N70 Max also features air suspension with adjustable ride height. It has a 5.67-meter turning radius and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. Its top speed is 190 km/h.

The N70 comes with nine airbags. Its advanced driver assistance system uses a LiDAR sensor and Nvidia’s Thor-U chip, offering up to 700 TOPS of computing power.
The system supports Xiaomi’s HAD large model and enables Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) functions on urban roads and highways.
The SUV also uses high-strength materials across its body. Around 91.3 percent of the body is made from high-strength steel and aluminum alloy. Fourteen sections of the body-in-white use hot-stamped steel with tensile strength of up to 2,200 MPa.
