KATHMANDU: TVS Motor Company’s first adventure motorcycle, the TVS RTX 300, is expected to arrive in Nepal soon. Jagdamba Motors, the brand’s authorized distributor in Nepal, has begun preparations for its launch.

The company has already brought the motorcycle to Nepal and is conducting road tests. While an official launch date has not been announced, the RTX 300 is expected to make its public debut at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo later this month.

Built on TVS’ all-new 300cc platform, the RTX 300 has received a positive response in the Indian market. If launched with competitive pricing, it is expected to become a strong contender in Nepal’s growing adventure motorcycle segment.

Designed for touring and adventure riding, the RTX 300 combines a new engine, premium electronics and practical touring features. Here are nine highlights of the motorcycle.

  1. New RT-XD4 engine

The RTX 300 is powered by a 299.1cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve engine. It produces 35 PS at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. TVS has equipped the engine with its Dual Cooling System, designed to maintain stable operating temperatures during long-distance rides without compromising performance.

  1. Four riding modes

The motorcycle offers Urban, Rain, Tour and Rally riding modes. Riders can switch between modes based on road and weather conditions, making the RTX 300 suitable for both daily commuting and off-road adventures.

  1. Bi-directional quickshifter

A bi-directional quickshifter allows clutchless upshifts and downshifts, improving riding comfort on highways and trails. The bike also features a slipper and assist clutch, which reduces clutch effort and helps prevent rear-wheel lock-up during aggressive downshifts.

  1. Cruise control

The RTX 300 comes equipped with cruise control, a feature rarely seen in this segment. It allows riders to maintain a constant speed on long highway journeys, reducing fatigue during extended rides.

  1. 5-inch TFT display

The motorcycle features a 5-inch color TFT instrument cluster with TVS SmartXonnect connectivity. It supports turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, music controls and smartphone connectivity, offering a modern riding experience.

  1. Traction control and switchable ABS

For improved control on challenging terrain, the RTX 300 is equipped with traction control and switchable rear ABS. Riders can disable the rear ABS when riding off-road for better control on loose surfaces.

  1. Adventure-ready chassis

The RTX 300 uses 41 mm USD front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. It rides on a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel, offering 200 mm of ground clearance. Block-pattern tubeless tires further enhance its off-road capability, making it well suited to Nepal’s varied road conditions.

  1. Touring-friendly luggage mounts

TVS has integrated mounting points for panniers and a top box, allowing riders to carry luggage securely on long-distance trips. This makes the RTX 300 a practical option for touring enthusiasts.

  1. Build-to-order program

One of the RTX 300’s standout features is its Build-To-Order (BTO) program. Customers can personalize the motorcycle with factory-approved accessories and optional equipment, allowing them to configure the bike according to their riding needs.

Verdict

With its new-generation engine, advanced electronics and touring-focused design, the TVS RTX 300 has the potential to become one of the most competitive adventure motorcycles in Nepal’s 300cc segment. If Jagdamba Motors introduces it at an attractive price, the RTX 300 could pose a serious challenge to established rivals.
