Chetak e-scooter price jumps by Rs. 25,000 in one shot

KATHMANDU: Bajaj Chetak electric scooter has received a price hike in Nepal. The scooter’s authorized distributor, Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, has increased the price of the Chetak 3501 by Rs 25,000.

The Chetak 3501 was launched in the Nepali market in August 3, 2025. This is the first price revision for the model since its launch.

Initially introduced at Rs 324,900, the Chetak 3501 now carries a new price tag of Rs 349,900.

The company has increased the scooter’s price before completing one year in the Nepali market. Currently, the Chetak 3501 is the only Bajaj Chetak model available in Nepal.

The scooter is powered by a 4.2 kW electric motor paired with a 3.5 kWh battery pack. According to the company, it offers a claimed range of up to 153 km on a full charge.

Using a fast charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in around three hours. The scooter has a top speed of 73 km/h.

Built with a solid metal body, the Chetak 3501 comes with a 5-inch TFT touchscreen display. Other features include an LED lighting setup, smart connectivity, navigation, music and call controls, real-time vehicle information, document access, geo-fencing, accident detection, anti-theft protection, water and dust resistance, over-the-air updates, disc brakes, alloy wheels, ride modes, hill hold assist, reverse mode, and 35 liters of under-seat storage.
