KATHMANDU: Ather Energy has launched its new family-oriented electric scooter, the Konarc, in India. The scooter is available in three variants, with prices starting at 100,000 (Indian rupees).
The Ather Konarc is offered in S 100, S 125 and S 161 variants. The top-spec S 161 offers a claimed range of up to 161 km on a single charge.
The Konarc is built on a steel unibody chassis. It features a conventional scooter design with an LED daytime running light on the front apron.
The scooter gets a flat footboard and a single-piece flat seat. It offers 31 liters of under-seat storage. The rear features a U-shaped LED taillight.

The S 100 and S 125 variants use a 2.1 kWh battery pack. The S 100 has a claimed IDC range of 100 km, while the S 125 offers up to 125 km.
The S 161 gets a larger 3.5 kWh battery paired with a 4.7 kW electric motor. It has a claimed range of 161 km and a top speed of 70 km/h.
The Konarc comes with features such as a USB Type-C charging port, AutoHold, FallSafe, AirWalk and Bluetooth connectivity. It also gets Ather Connect, theft and tow alerts, Find My Scooter and over-the-air software updates.
The Konarc is positioned as a practical electric scooter for family-oriented buyers. Ather could introduce the model in other markets, including Nepal, in the future.
