KATHMANDU: The NADA Auto Show 2026 has seen a strong turnout as it enters its final day at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
The 18th edition of the NADA Auto Show began on Tuesday and will conclude on Sunday. Visitor numbers had dropped slightly after floods in the Bhotekoshi area on Wednesday. However, the crowd started increasing again from Friday, with a strong turnout seen on Saturday.
A total of 53 vehicle brands are participating in the show. They include passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and two-wheelers. More than 200 stalls are displaying vehicles, auto components, tires, lubricants, financial services, insurance and other automotive products.
Around two dozen new models have been launched or introduced at the show this year. Several new brands have also entered the Nepali market through the event.
Among the major two-wheeler highlights is the Yatri P2, an electric scooter developed and manufactured in Nepal. New scooters from MiChe and Vida have also been introduced at the show.
On the four-wheeler side, Deepal Nevo Q05, Dongfeng MHero 1 and Dongfeng eπ 007 have made their presence in Nepal through the show. The Nevo Q05 is an electric SUV, while the eπ 007 is an electric sedan. MHero 1 is positioned as a premium off-road electric SUV.
New models have attracted strong interest from visitors. Cars priced between Rs 3 million and Rs 5 million have received particularly high attention. New motorcycles and scooters have also drawn large crowds.
Attractive discounts and festive offers from manufacturers and distributors have further increased buyer interest.
Among the electric cars drawing attention are the Nammi VIGO, Nammi Box, facelifted Tata Nexon.ev, Tata Punch.ev, BYD Atto 2, JAECOO J5, Chery Q, GAC Aion, Arcfox T1, Ora 5, Leapmotor B03X and Proton e.MAS 5.
Despite the dominance of EVs, petrol-powered models have also received good attention. The new Suzuki Brezza, Suzuki Jimny and all-new Hyundai Venue are among the models attracting visitors.
Two-wheeler enthusiasts are showing interest in the Yatri P2, Yamaha XSR 155, Yamaha R15S, Yamaha Fascino, Aprilia SR 175 and Hero Xtreme 250R. The Yamaha XSR 155 and Aprilia SR 175 are among the new two-wheelers introduced at the show.
Hybrid vehicles are also attracting visitors. Models such as the BAIC BJ30e, Dongfeng MHero 1 and BYD Shark 6 have drawn attention from customers looking for alternatives to conventional petrol and diesel vehicles.
With the show entering its final day, exhibitors are expecting continued interest from buyers looking to purchase vehicles ahead of the festive season.
