KATHMANDU: Hyundai’s upcoming midsize SUV for India has been spotted testing ahead of its expected launch during the 2026 festive season.

The new SUV is based on the Hyundai Bayon and will be positioned between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s Indian lineup.

The India-spec model will feature a different exterior design from the Bayon sold in international markets.

Spy images show an upright SUV stance with flared wheel arches, dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails and a raked rear windshield.

The SUV is also expected to feature split headlamps with L-shaped LED daytime running lights and a rectangular air intake. At the rear, it could get LED taillights connected by an LED light bar.

Inside, the new model is expected to feature a dual-tone cabin and a curved dual-screen setup. It is also likely to get a two-tone steering wheel and circular door handles.

The new SUV will help Hyundai strengthen its presence in the midsize SUV segment. It is expected to go on sale in India during the 2026 festive season.
