KATHMANDU: Chinese automaker BAIC’s electric vehicle brand ArcFox has launched the new Alpha T7 mid-to-large SUV in China. The company says the model received more than 30,000 confirmed orders within one hour of its launch on September 16.
The Alpha T7 is available in nine configurations, including pure-electric and extended-range versions. Prices range from around $19,500 to $24,800.
Based on ArcFox’s “Arc-Flow” design language, the SUV features a coupe-style body with a closed front grille and a 1,700 mm-wide “Star Pupil” light strip. It measures 5,020 mm long, 1,996 mm wide and 1,685 mm tall, with a 3,040 mm wheelbase. Its drag coefficient stands at 0.251.
Inside, the Alpha T7 gets a 43.3-inch panoramic head-up display instead of a conventional instrument cluster. It also features a 17.3-inch 3K central touchscreen powered by a 4nm chip, with 5G connectivity, AI voice interaction, Huawei HiCar and Apple CarPlay.
The SUV offers 645 liters of rear cargo space, expandable to 1,845 liters with the rear seats folded. It also gets a 200-liter front trunk.
The Alpha T7 is equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system, supported by 27 sensors. The system provides highway and urban navigation assistance and automated parking across more than 160 scenarios.
The pure-electric version uses an 800V silicon-carbide platform and a single motor producing 227 kW (304 hp). It is available with 72.8 kWh and 84.8 kWh CATL LFP batteries, offering CLTC ranges of 650 km and 715 km, respectively. The system can add up to 270 km of range in 10 minutes of fast charging.
The extended-range version combines a 1.5-liter range extender with a 200 kW (268 hp) motor. Its 43.9 kWh CATL LFP battery provides a 320 km pure-electric CLTC range and a total range of up to 1,315 km.
ArcFox entered the Nepali market in July, with Laxmi Motorhub introducing the Arcfox T1 crossover as its first model. With demand for larger SUVs growing in Nepal, the Alpha T7 could also be considered for the Nepali market in the future.
