Vaidya Energy has launched the updated 2025 models of two scooters from the Ather 450 series in the Nepali market, lowering prices by up to Rs 40,000.
The company is a subsidiary of the Vaidya’s Organization of Industrial and Trading Houses (VOITH) and the official distributor of Indian electric two-wheeler brand Ather for Nepal.
The refreshed models now feature three ride modes-Rain, Road and Rally-and come equipped with the AtherStack 6 software update with features like Google Maps, Alexa integration and live location sharing. With a range of up to 161 km on a single charge, the scooters also debut in two new colors: Hyper Sand and Stealth Blue, combining enhanced practicality with a stylish look.
The updated Ather 450X is priced at Rs 364,999 for the 2.9 kWh battery variant and Rs 399,999 for the 3.7 kWh version. Similarly, the 2.9 kWh variant of the 450S is priced at Rs 324,999.
According to Shuryans Vaidya, managing director of Vaidya Energy, service availability, battery reliability and charging infrastructure are the main challenges to electric scooter sales in Nepal. To address this concern, he added that Ather has installed fast chargers at 21 locations and plans to expand this network to 100 locations soon.
Vaidya added that Ather has become Nepal’s leading electric scooter brand within just 16 months of its launch. He also said that Ather was offering free charging for all its users until 2026.
New warranty package
Ather currently offers a standard warranty of five years or 60,000 kilometers on its scooters. Under a newly introduced plan, the company is assuring 70% battery health for eight years or 80,000 kilometers. This extended warranty is available through a paid package: Rs 9,999 for scooters with a 2.9 kWh battery and Rs 12,499 for 3.7 kWh battery version. Both new and existing customers are eligible for this scheme.
Ather care service plans
Ather has also introduced its Ather Care maintenance service in Nepal, similar to the Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) plans offered by other brands.
Under the basic Ather Care plan, customers paying Rs 1,999 annually will receive two free services, a 10% discount on spare parts and a 10% discount on labor charges. This plan is valid for one year or 10,000 kilometers.
Similarly, the Ather Care Plus plan, priced at Rs 2,499, offers two free services, a 15% discount on spare parts, a 10% discount on labor charges, three free washes and three polishing services.
The most comprehensive plan, Ather Care Max, costs Rs 3,999 per year and includes everything in Ather Care Plus, with additional benefits such as three free belt lubrication services, five polishing services and five washes.
