KATHMANDU : The interior of the upcoming BYD Atto 1 facelift has been revealed in China through new spy shots.
The refreshed electric hatchback gets a redesigned cabin. The most notable changes include a new dual-layer center console and a large center-mounted infotainment screen.
The BYD Atto 1 is an entry-level electric hatchback from BYD’s Ocean lineup. The model is sold as the Seagull in China and some international markets. In other markets, it is also known as the Dolphin Mini or Dolphin Surf.
The new Atto 1 features a sloped, dual-layer center console. The design creates additional storage space underneath the console.
A large infotainment touchscreen sits at the top of the center console. Physical buttons are retained below the center air vents.
The refreshed model appears to drop the separate driver information display found in the current car. The steering wheel has also been redesigned with angular, squirrel-shaped buttons.
The interior retains the blue theme seen in the current Chinese-market model. Red accents have also been added to the sides of the seat bolsters.
Larger dimensions and more power
The refreshed Atto 1 will be larger than the current model. It measures 4,205 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,570 mm high.
Its wheelbase has increased by 150 mm to 2,650 mm. Depending on the variant, the vehicle weighs between 1,180 kg and 1,255 kg.
The new model will ride on 205/60 R16 tires, which are wider than those used on the current Chinese-market model.
The facelift also gets a more powerful front-mounted electric motor. It produces 95 kW (127 hp), up from the current model’s top output.
The new Atto 1 has a top speed of 150 km/h.
The electric hatchback will use an LFP battery supplied by Shaoxing FinDreams Battery, a BYD subsidiary. Battery capacity and range figures have not yet been revealed.
The model uses a 400V electrical architecture and will not support BYD’s Flash Charging technology.
