KATHMANDU: BYD and its authorized distributor in Nepal, Cimex Inc., have announced a donation of Rs 70 million for communities affected by the recent floods.
The amount will be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. It will support the government’s efforts in rescue, medical treatment, immediate relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
The donation comes after the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems. The floods caused significant loss of lives and property, particularly in Rasuwa and surrounding areas.
Liu Xueliang, Vice President of BYD Group and General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, expressed sadness over the destruction caused by the floods.
He said BYD stands with the affected families, communities and rescue teams working on the ground.
“BYD stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal. Together with our local partner Cimex, we hope this support will strengthen the government’s relief and rehabilitation efforts,” Liu said.
BYD and Cimex also expressed condolences to those who lost their lives in the disaster. They wished for the early recovery and reconstruction of the affected communities.
