KATHMANDU: Chery Automobile has launched the Rely R08 mid-size pickup truck in the UAE with a starting price of 17,125 USD.
Rely is Chery’s commercial vehicle brand, established in 2019. In some international markets, the R08 is also known as the Chery Himla.
The Rely R08 is built on a body-on-frame chassis and comes with an 80-liter fuel tank and a payload capacity of up to 1,000 kg. It measures 5,370 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,880 mm in height, with a 3,230 mm wheelbase.
Under the hood, the petrol variant gets a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 158 hp and 230 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is available in rear-wheel drive (RWD), while higher trims offer four-wheel drive (4WD).
The diesel version is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine delivering 161 hp and 420 Nm of torque. It comes with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission, with RWD and 4WD options depending on the variant.
The base petrol variant is positioned as a practical workhorse, offering features such as cloth seats, manual seat adjustment, rear parking sensors, air conditioning, dual front airbags, and a four-speaker audio system.
Higher variants, including the diesel Limited Edition priced at 25,700 USD, offer premium features such as a 4WD system, 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charger, surround-view camera, and ADAS features.
Chery offers a 5-year or 200,000 km warranty on the Rely R08, whichever comes first. The service interval is set at 10,000 km or six months.a
