KATHMANDU: The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 is underway at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. The mobility expo, which began on Tuesday, will continue until Sunday.
A total of 55 brands from the two-wheeler, four-wheeler and commercial vehicle segments are participating in the expo. More than 40 new models have been launched or unveiled at the event.
Vehicles priced from around Rs 1.9 million to nearly Rs 30 million are on display. While affordable and mid-range vehicles have attracted most visitors, several premium and luxury models have also become major attractions.
More than half a dozen cars priced above Rs 10 million have been launched at the expo. Among them, four models are priced above Rs 20 million.
Denza B5
The Denza B5 is the most expensive car on display at the NAIMA Expo. BYD’s premium brand Denza has brought the plug-in hybrid SUV to Nepal through Cimex. The SUV is priced at Rs 29.7 million.
The Denza B5 is a powerful and luxury-oriented SUV. It comes with a 1,497cc turbocharged engine producing 181 hp and 260 Nm of torque.
The SUV uses an EHS electric hybrid system with a 31.8 kWh LFP battery. It gets an 83-liter fuel tank. With a full battery and fuel tank, it can travel around 850 km under the WLTP testing cycle. In EV mode, it can travel around 90 km.
The B5 gets powerful electric motors on both axles. The front motor produces 200 kW, while the rear motor produces 225 kW. The combined output of the engine and electric motors is 425 kW.
The all-wheel-drive SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds. It has a top speed of 210 kmph. The B5 supports 100 kW DC and 11 kW AC charging.
The SUV comes with heated, ventilated and massage seats, a large panoramic sunroof and premium Nappa leather upholstery. Safety features include a 360-degree camera, transparent chassis view, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring. It also gets Level 2 ADAS.
The Denza B5 is available in two variants. The Dynamic measures 4,888 mm in length, while the Premium measures 4,921 mm. Both variants are 1,970 mm wide and have a 2,800 mm wheelbase. The Dynamic gets 18-inch wheels, while the Premium gets 20-inch wheels.
MG Majestor
The MG Majestor is the second most expensive vehicle at the expo. The SUV is priced at Rs 25 million in Nepal.
The Majestor has gained attention for its powerful diesel engine. In March 2026, the SUV set a Guinness World Record by pulling a 406.40-tonne train on railway tracks in India.
The MG Majestor is powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged diesel engine. It produces 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is used.
The SUV is available with both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options. It measures 5,046 mm in length, 2,016 mm in width and 1,876 mm in height. Its wheelbase measures 2,950 mm.
The Majestor features a large glossy black front grille and dual exhaust outlets at the rear. Based on the Maxus D90, the SUV is designed for buyers looking for a large and capable vehicle.
The 4WD version comes with 10 off-road modes, triple differential locks at the front, center and rear, crawl control and 219 mm of ground clearance. It can also wade through water up to 810 mm deep.
The SUV comes with Level 2 ADAS. Inside, it gets a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen, a 12.3-inch information display and a three-spoke steering wheel.
Other features include three-zone climate control, a 12-speaker sound system, heated and ventilated seats and massage seats.
Hyundai Ioniq 9
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is the third most expensive car at the NAIMA Expo. It is also the most expensive EV on display at the event. Laxmi Intercontinental has priced the premium electric SUV at Rs 21.996 million.
The seven-seat SUV is positioned as Hyundai’s largest model in the Ioniq lineup. It combines long driving range, advanced technology, safety features and fast charging.
The Ioniq 9 is built on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform and uses an 800-volt electrical architecture.
The SUV is equipped with a 160 kW electric motor and a 110 kWh battery pack. It offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 620 km on a full charge.
With a 350 kW DC fast charger, Hyundai claims the battery can be charged from around 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes.
The Ioniq 9 is available in different configurations. The lineup includes rear-wheel-drive versions, while a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup is also available. The SUV offers quick acceleration, high torque and smooth power delivery.
Inside, it gets dual panoramic displays, a digital cockpit, premium materials, comfortable seats, multi-zone climate control, over-the-air software updates and a digital key.
The SUV also features advanced driver assistance systems and a 360-degree camera.
The Ioniq 9 follows Hyundai’s new aerodynamic design philosophy. It features an aerodynamic body, pixel-style LED lighting and a closed-off front grille.
Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
The sixth-generation Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is the fourth car at the expo priced above Rs 20 million. United Traders Syndicate has introduced the new RAV4 in Nepal at Rs 21.3 million.
The new RAV4 comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. The self-charging hybrid version produces a combined 240 PS, which is 18 PS more than the outgoing RAV4. It gets a 1.5 kWh battery.
The new RAV4 features an updated cabin and advanced safety technology. It gets a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Other features include over-the-air software updates, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats and ambient lighting.
For safety, the SUV gets Toyota Safety Sense 4.0. Its features include automatic emergency braking, full-speed dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert, lane-keeping assist, lane centering, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
It also gets a driver monitoring system, 360-degree surround-view camera, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist and a tire pressure monitoring system.
