Hero motorcycles and scooters updated to new emission standards in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Hero MotoCorp Nepal has updated most of its motorcycle and scooter lineup to meet the latest OBD-II emission standards.

The company has introduced OBD-II compliant versions of two motorcycles and two scooters. These include the Hero Xtreme 125R and Hero XPulse 200 on the motorcycle side, along with the Hero Xoom 110 and Hero Xoom 125 in the scooter segment.

Except for the Hero Xtreme 160R and Hero Splendor, most Hero models sold in Nepal are now available in OBD-II versions.

In terms of pricing, the XPulse 200 starts at Rs 495,900, while the XPulse 200 Pro is priced at Rs 519,900. The Xtreme 125R is available at Rs 318,900.

Among scooters, the Xoom 110 is priced at Rs 274,900, while the Xoom 125 costs Rs 309,900.

Hero MotoCorp Nepal plans to upgrade its entire lineup to OBD-II in the near future. With OBD-II already implemented in India, the shift is also expected to influence pricing.

Meanwhile, other brands are also gradually introducing OBD-II compliant two-wheelers in the Nepali market.
