KATHMANDU: KTM has launched the new RC 160, expanding its RC motorcycle lineup. The bike is priced at 1.85 Indian rupees (ex-showroom).
The KTM RC 160 is built on a trellis frame and comes with a fully faired design. It looks similar to the RC 200. Key features include an LED headlamp with boomerang-style LED DRLs, a split seat setup, clip-on handlebars and an LCD instrument console.

The motorcycle is powered by a 164.2cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine. It produces 18.7 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and gets an assist and slipper clutch. KTM claims a top speed of 118 km/h.
In terms of hardware, the RC 160 gets a 37 mm USD fork at the front and a rear monoshock. Braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS.
In the local market, the KTM RC 160 competes directly with the Yamaha R15.
