KATHMANDU: Mahindra is preparing to update the Thar 3-door SUV in India. The facelifted model has been spotted testing again, revealing new exterior details.
The latest test mule features a redesigned front grille. It gets a five-slot design flanked by circular LED headlamps.
The front fenders also appear to have been redesigned. They feature new position lamps, while the test vehicle was seen with a new five-spoke alloy wheel design.
The Thar 3-door facelift is expected to retain its existing powertrain options. These include a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol, 1.5-liter diesel and 2.2-liter diesel engine.
The engines will continue to be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. Four-wheel drive will remain available on select variants.
The facelift is expected to bring mainly cosmetic and feature updates, while the mechanical package is likely to remain unchanged.
The Mahindra Thar is also one of the most anticipated off-road SUVs among Nepali auto enthusiasts. However, the model has yet to be officially launched in Nepal.
