KATHMANDU : Mahindra is set to introduce its new electric SUV, the XEV 9S, in Nepal. The model will make its public debut at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, which begins on August 11 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal, plans to launch the all-electric SUV during the exhibition.
The XEV 9S is built on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO electric vehicle platform. The same architecture also underpins the XEV 9e and BE 6, which are already available in the market.
Unlike the coupe-styled XEV 9e, the new XEV 9S adopts a more traditional SUV silhouette. It features an upright roofline, giving it a more practical and family-oriented design.
At the front, the SUV gets a full-width LED light bar, a closed-off grille and a muscular bumper. Mahindra appears to have prioritized interior space and passenger comfort over a sporty coupe profile.
The SUV has a 2,762 mm wheelbase and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin offers a premium layout with a triple-screen dashboard. Key features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, 360-degree camera and dual-zone climate control.
Mahindra has also equipped the XEV 9S with a 16-speaker Harman audio system with Dolby Atmos, a head-up display, Level 2 ADAS, a memory function for the driver’s seat and an air purifier.
The XEV 9S is a seven-seat SUV. The second-row seats offer ventilation, slide and recline functions, sun blinds, tray tables, wireless charging and entertainment screens. The third row is best suited for children or short-distance travel.
In India, the XEV 9S is available with 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. Mahindra has not yet confirmed which battery option will be offered in Nepal.
The top-spec 79 kWh version features a rear-wheel-drive layout and an electric motor producing 281 hp and 380 Nm of torque.
