KATHMANDU: Mercedes-Benz has started pre-sales of its new all-electric CLA Long-Wheelbase in China.

The sedan comes in two versions. The CLA 300 L Ultra-Long Range Edition is priced at about 36,000 USD and the CLA 300 L Ultra-Long Range Intelligent Edition is priced at about 41,600 USD.

First shown at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, the car is built on an 800V platform. It offers both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. The two-speed transmission helps it use only 10.9 kWh per 100 km, with a maximum CLTC range of 866 km.

The long-wheelbase model is 40 mm longer than the standard version. It has a wheelbase of 2,830 mm and measures 4,763 mm in length, 1,856 mm in width, and 1,469 mm in height.

On the outside, it features a large grille decorated with illuminated Mercedes-Benz logos and star-shaped LED lights. Inside, the car comes with a modern triple-screen setup that includes a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch central display and an optional 14-inch passenger screen.

The car runs on Mercedes-Benz’s new MB.OS system, which supports AI voice control and 5G connectivity. The passenger screen also comes with gesture control.

Many of the intelligent driving and infotainment features were developed by the company’s R&D team in China.
