KATHMANDU: The next-generation Kia Seltos may have been inadvertently revealed in Hyundai’s documentary series, The Great Heritage: Car.
A scene filmed at Hyundai’s R&D Center briefly shows a silver SUV in the background, believed to be the upcoming Seltos. The vehicle features rectangular headlights, blacked-out A-pillars, redesigned side mirrors and a curved rear windshield. These details are consistent with earlier spy photos of the Seltos prototype.
Kia has confirmed that the next-generation Seltos, code-named SP3, will include a hybrid variant for the first time. The hybrid is expected to go into production in August 2026.

The Seltos Hybrid will combined a 1.6-liter petrol engine with an electric motor producing approximately 141 horsepower. It will also feature an electronic all-wheel-drive (E-AWD) system which is designed to outperform traditional all-wheel-drive setups.
The next-generation Seltos is expected to launch globally later this year and will be available with hybrid powertrain along with the existing diesel and petrol variants.
Kia Seltos has enjoyed good sales in the Nepali automobile market. It is known among consumers for its style and reliability.
