KATHMANDU: Proton has updated its electric SUV, the e.Mas 7, with a larger battery. The company unveiled the new version at the Malaysian Auto Show.
The SUV now uses a 68.39 kWh Aegis Short Blade battery, replacing the earlier 60.22 kWh unit. The battery is produced by Geely, which also holds a stake in Proton.
With the bigger battery, the WLTP range has increased from 410 km to 450 km.
The updated e.Mas 7 is available in three variants: Prime, Premium, and Premium Plus. The model, currently on sale in Malaysia, is expected to arrive in Nepal soon.
The base Prime variant comes with 18-inch wheels, while the higher variants get 19-inch wheels. The motor remains unchanged, producing 160 kW of power and 320 Nm of peak torque.
For charging, the SUV supports up to 100 kW DC fast charging and 11 kW AC charging.
