KATHMANDU: SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of Chery Automobile’s sub-brands Omoda and Jaecoo in Nepal, has been honored with the ‘EV Pioneer Award’ for its efforts in promoting electric vehicles (EVs) in the country.
The award was presented during the ‘Chery International Global Dealer Conference 2025’ held in Wuhu, China.
“The recognition was given to SPG for its contribution to introducing and expanding the market for Omoda and Jaecoo EVs in Nepal,” the company said in a statement.
Su Hui, Vice President of Chery Holding Group Company, handed over the award to Gaurav Sharda, the Director of SPG Automobiles, during the ‘Chery International Global Dealer Conference 2025.
“More than 3,000 dealers from over 120 countries participated in the international conference. The event served as a platform to showcase achievements in the global automobile sector and share strategic ideas among international partners,” the statement added.
According to the company, the award highlights SPG’s dedication to promoting clean and sustainable mobility in Nepal and that it remains committed to playing a key role in the country’s transition toward eco-friendly transport solutions.
SPG Automobiles currently sells two new EV models – Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J6 – in the Nepali market. The company has sold over 800 EVs in its first year of operation
