KATHMANDU: Indian two-wheeler maker TVS has unveiled the most powerful motorcycle in its Apache series in the Nepali market.
Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of TVS in Nepal, is displaying the much-anticipated Apache RTR 310 at the ongoing NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo. The model, however, will not go on sale in Nepal immediately, according to the company.
The Apache RTR 310 is a naked sports motorcycle in the 300cc segment. It is the naked version of the RR 310, which is already available in Nepal, but with a more powerful engine and features typically found in premium motorcycles.
Powered by a 310cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, the RTR 310 produces 35 bhp and 27.8 Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch and five riding modes – Sport, Urban, Rain, Track and Supermoto.
TVS has also added climate control seating in the RTR 310, which allows the seat to be heated or cooled according to weather conditions.
The updated Apache RTR 310, launched in the Indian market just days ago, also offers advanced features such as launch control, keyless ignition and engine braking control. Launch control prevents loss of acceleration and helps in rapid starts, while keyless ignition, typically found in premium motorcycles, adds convenience to riders. Engine braking control, on the other hand, helps regulate deceleration during aggressive downshifts or when riding downhill.
According to the company, the RTR 310 also boasts several segment-first features, including cruise control, cornering ABS, and traction control. It is equipped with a 5-inch TFT smart console that can connect not only to a smartphone but also to a GoPro.
TVS has also added climate control seating in the RTR 300, which allows the seat to be heated or cooled according to weather conditions.
