KATHMANDU: Paramount Motors, the official distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, has launched the upgraded version of the Comet EV in the Nepali market.

The refreshed Comet EV comes equipped with several new features, including a rear parking camera, power folding side mirrors and 7kW fast-charging capability. With fast charging, the car can be fully charged from 0 to 100% in just 3.5 hours, according to the company.

Designed specifically for modern urban lifestyles, the Comet EV is a compact mini car built on MG’s “Big Inside, Compact Outside” (BICO) design philosophy. Despite its small exterior, the vehicle offers a surprisingly spacious interior and can comfortably seat four passengers.

MG is offering an 8-year or 120,000-kilometer warranty on the battery and a 3-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty on the high-voltage components.

The upgraded Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh prismatic cell lithium-ion battery that delivers a range of up to 230 kilometers on a full charge. The battery is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance and has passed 39 rigorous safety tests, according to the company.

The car features a 10.25-inch dual display system, comprising an infotainment touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. It also comes with a smart key for added convenience.

On the safety front, the Comet EV includes two front airbags, ABS with EBD, three-point seatbelts for front and rear passengers, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

MG is offering an 8-year or 120,000-kilometer warranty on the battery and a 3-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty on the high-voltage components.
