KATHMANDU: TVS Motor Company has become the world’s third-largest two-wheeler manufacturer by sales in 2025, overtaking Yamaha Motor Company.
TVS sold 5.46 million units in 2025, compared to 4.52 million units in 2024. In contrast, Yamaha recorded 5 million units during the same period, posting a modest 0.8 percent year-on-year growth.
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. continues to lead the global two-wheeler market. Honda sold 16.44 million units in 2025, up from 15.51 million units in 2024.
Hero MotoCorp remains ahead of TVS in overall rankings. The company sold 6.25 million units last year, securing its position among the top global manufacturers.
In India, TVS holds an estimated 19-20 percent market share, making it the third-largest brand in the domestic market. The company is also expanding in the electric two-wheeler segment and has consistently topped the monthly EV sales charts.
Globally, TVS is targeting growth in Europe, Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. In Nepal, TVS two-wheelers are distributed by Jagdamba Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor since September 2015.
