KATHMANDU: Volkswagen’s upcoming Volkswagen ID Polo EV has been leaked online ahead of its official debut in May. The latest images reveal the production-ready design without camouflage.
The ID Polo EV closely follows the 2023 Volkswagen ID.2all Concept. It features slim LED headlamps, a closed-off front grille, and an illuminated VW logo. Minor changes include a revised front bumper and conventional ORVMs. The rear door handles remain integrated into the C-pillar.
In terms of size, the hatchback measures 4,053 mm in length, 1,816 mm in width, and 1,530 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2,600 mm, making it larger than the older Polo sold in some markets.
A sportier GTI version is also seen in the leaked images. It gets a honeycomb grille, vertical DRLs, red accents, and GTI badging.

Inside, the ID Polo EV offers a modern yet functional cabin. It includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Volkswagen has also retained physical buttons for key controls under its ‘Pure Positive’ approach.
The system supports customizable display themes, including a retro mode inspired by the Volkswagen Golf Mk1. This includes analogue-style graphics and vintage-themed animations.
The ID Polo EV is part of Volkswagen’s plan to introduce more affordable electric cars in global markets.
