KATHMANDU: Volkswagen has launched the updated Taigun facelift in the Indian market, with a starting price of 1.99 million Indian rupees (ex-showroom). The SUV is available in six variants: Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line, Topline, and GT Plus.
The facelifted Taigun features design updates at the front and rear. It gets new LED headlamps connected by an LED light bar, along with a revised front bumper. At the rear, the SUV comes with updated LED taillights with sequential turn indicators and a redesigned bumper. It also features illuminated VW logos and new 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the overall dashboard layout remains unchanged but gets feature upgrades. The SUV now offers a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is available with six upholstery options and updated interior trims.
Feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The air-conditioning system has also been updated.
The Taigun facelift continues with the same engine options. The 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine produces 113 BHP and 178 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a new 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine delivers 148 BHP and 250 Nm and is available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Higher variants also get rear disc brakes as standard.
The Taigun competes with models such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq, and Renault Duster.
