KATHMANDU: The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 concluded on Sunday, but attention has already shifted to the upcoming NADA Auto Show.
The 19th edition of the NADA Auto Show is scheduled to begin on August 25. The organizers are expected to reveal details about new launches and attractions at a press conference on Monday.
Among the models expected to attract attention are three SUVs: Jetour T2, Tata Sierra EV, and Changan Nevo Q05 EV.
The three models target different parts of the growing SUV market. The Jetour T2 focuses on adventure and plug-in hybrid technology, while the Sierra EV targets the premium electric SUV segment. The Nevo Q05 EV is positioned as a more compact and technology-focused electric SUV.
Jetour T2: an SUV for adventure
The Jetour T2 has been developed as a rugged adventure SUV. Its boxy design, high ground clearance, large wheel arches and strong road presence give it a distinctive character.
Jetour also offers the T2 in a plug-in hybrid version, known as the T2 i-DM. The global-spec model uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor. The official specification lists a 26.7 kWh LFP battery and a claimed NEDC electric range of 139 km.

The T2 measures 4,785 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width and 1,875-1,880 mm in height, depending on the version. It has a 2,800 mm wheelbase.
The PHEV version could be particularly interesting for Nepal. It can offer electric driving for daily use while retaining a petrol engine for longer journeys.
However, the exact specification of the T2 i-DM planned for Nepal has yet to be confirmed.
Tata Sierra EV targets the premium EV market
The Tata Sierra EV is one of Tata Motors’ most anticipated electric SUVs. It also revives the iconic Sierra name in an all-electric form.
The Sierra EV is available with 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery options in India. The 75 kWh version offers a claimed MIDC range of up to 665 km. Tata also claims that the SUV can add up to 263 km of range in 15 minutes of fast charging.

The Sierra EV also focuses heavily on cabin technology and comfort. Features include a large panoramic sunroof, multiple displays, premium audio, connected technology and automated parking assistance.
The exact version planned for Nepal is yet to be confirmed. Its pricing will also be an important factor in determining how strongly it can compete in Nepal’s premium EV market.
Nevo Q05 EV: a compact electric SUV
The Changan Nevo Q05 EV is positioned differently from the T2 and Sierra EV.
The compact electric SUV measures 4,435 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and around 1,600 mm in height. It has a 2,735 mm wheelbase.

The Nepal-bound model is expected to use a 51.9 kWh LFP battery and a 120 kW electric motor producing 190 Nm of torque. The model supports DC fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 30% to 80% in around 15 minutes.
The Q05 is also expected to appeal to buyers looking for a relatively compact SUV with modern technology and a competitive price.
With competition increasing in the sub-Rs. 5.5 million EV segment, the Q05 could become an important model if it is launched at an aggressive price.
Three SUVs, three different buyers
The arrival of these three models would add more variety to Nepal’s rapidly growing SUV market.
The Jetour T2 i-DM could appeal to buyers looking for an adventure-oriented SUV with plug-in hybrid technology.
The Tata Sierra EV could attract customers seeking long range, premium features and a fully electric driving experience.
The Changan Nevo Q05 EV, meanwhile, could target buyers who want a compact electric SUV with modern technology and a competitive price.
The three models will join an increasingly competitive EV market that already includes brands such as BYD, MG, Deepal, Omoda, iCaur, Leapmotor and Nammi.
For Nepal, the final price, specifications, warranty, spare-parts availability, service network and after-sales support will play a major role in determining the success of these new SUVs.
