KATHMANDU : The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 is underway at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. The expo features 55 brands, with more than 50 new models and products already launched.
Vehicles ranging from around Rs. 200,000 to Rs. 30 million are on display at the expo. While affordable and mid-range cars have attracted many visitors, premium motorcycles are also drawing attention.
Two-wheelers remain the dominant form of mobility in Nepal. However, motorcycles are increasingly becoming lifestyle and performance products, with customers willing to spend millions of rupees on premium models.
Most motorcycles in Nepal are priced below Rs. 1 million. At NAIMA Expo, however, visitors can see motorcycles priced above Rs. 3.8 million. Some of these bikes are more expensive than several cars on display at the expo.
Morbidelli T 1002 VX
The Morbidelli T 1002 VX is the most expensive motorcycle at the expo. Distributed by Vaidya Group in Nepal, it is priced at Rs. 4.4999 million.
The motorcycle is powered by a 997cc V-twin, eight-valve engine. It produces 88.5 hp and 89 Nm of peak torque.
The T 1002 VX comes with features such as multiple riding modes, traction control, cruise control, ride-by-wire throttle and adjustable suspension. It is designed as a premium adventure tourer for long-distance riding.
Morbidelli is an Italian motorcycle brand known for its racing heritage and distinctive designs. The T 1002 VX is attracting attention at the expo with its large proportions and premium touring-focused design.
ZXMOTO 820RR
The Chinese ZXMOTO 820RR is another motorcycle at the expo that costs more than several cars. The supersport model has an official price of Rs. 4.4 million.
However, under the NAIMA Expo offer, the company is providing a Rs. 600,000 discount. This brings the promotional price down to Rs. 3.8 million.
The ZXMOTO 820RR is powered by an 818.8cc inline-three engine. It produces up to 135 hp and 80 Nm of torque.
The motorcycle has a claimed top speed of 299 km/h. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 2.8 seconds.
Its lightweight construction is one of its key highlights. The motorcycle weighs around 168 kg, giving it a strong power-to-weight ratio.
The 820RR also features racing-inspired technology, including advanced rider electronics, adjustable suspension and quickshifter technology.
For most Nepali buyers, a motorcycle priced above Rs. 3.8 million is an unusual proposition. However, these models target customers looking for performance, exclusivity, racing technology and a premium riding experience rather than conventional transportation.
