Three cars under Rs 2 million: NAIMA Expo’s best budget buys

KATHMANDU : The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026 is underway at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. The expo, which began on Tuesday, will run through Sunday.

A total of 55 two-wheelers, four-wheelers and commercial vehicle brands are participating in the expo. More than 50 new models had been launched by Thursday.

The expo features vehicles ranging from around Rs 1.8 million to nearly Rs 30 million. Among them, affordable electric cars have attracted significant attention from visitors.

There are three cars available at the expo for less than Rs 2 million. These compact EVs are aimed mainly at urban buyers looking for an affordable city car.

MG Comet EV

The MG Comet EV is among the cheapest cars at the NAIMA Expo. G.O. Automobiles, the authorized distributor of JSW MG Motor in Nepal, has priced the entry-level Comet EV at Rs 1.875 million. The company is also offering additional benefits under the NAIMA campaign.

The Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery and a 31 kW electric motor. It produces 42 hp and 110 Nm of torque. The car has a claimed range of up to 230 km on a single charge.

The four-seater measures 2,974 mm in length, 1,505 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height. It has a 2,010 mm wheelbase.

Features include a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, voice commands and a multifunction steering wheel. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS, EBD and a reverse parking camera.

Henry Volts Model H

The Henry VOLTS Model H is another budget-friendly EV showcased at the expo. The model was previously listed at a higher price in Nepal, while the NAIMA offer has brought its price below Rs 2 million.

The Model H is powered by a 34 kW electric motor and a 16.5 kWh LFP battery. It offers a claimed range of around 205 km. The motor produces 102 Nm of torque and drives the rear wheels.

The compact EV measures 3,380 mm in length, 1,499 mm in width and 1,610 mm in height. It has a 2,440 mm wheelbase and 165 mm ground clearance.

The four-seater comes with LED headlights, ruby-style tail lights, a multifunction steering wheel, synthetic leather seats and power windows. Safety equipment includes a driver airbag, ABS, EBD, reverse camera, reverse parking sensors and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

Wuling Mini EV

The Wuling Mini EV is also available for less than Rs 2 million under the NAIMA offer. Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of Wuling in Nepal, has priced the Standard Range variant at Rs 2.099 million. With a Rs 100,000 NAIMA discount, it can be purchased for Rs 1.999 million.

The four-door mini EV measures 3,268 mm in length, 1,520 mm in width and 1,575 mm in height. It is powered by a 30 kW motor and offers Standard, Eco and Sport driving modes.

The Mini EV is available with 16.2 kWh and 25.1 kWh battery options. The two versions offer claimed ranges of 205 km and 301 km, respectively.

Safety features include dual airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold, traction control, hydraulic brake assist and auto hold. It also gets four-wheel disc brakes and three levels of regenerative braking.
