KATHMANDU: Jagdamba Motors, part of Shanker Group, is bringing electric heavy commercial vehicles from Chinese manufacturer Shacman to Nepal.
The company plans to introduce the Shacman X5000E 6×4 electric tractor and X5000E 6×4 electric dump truck in the Nepali market.
The two models will expand Jagdamba Motors’ electric vehicle lineup into the heavy commercial segment. They are aimed at applications such as freight transport, construction, mining and other heavy-duty operations.
The X5000E electric tractor is designed for heavy goods transportation and commercial hauling. The X5000E electric dump truck is intended for construction, mining and operations in challenging terrain.
Both models use Shacman’s electric powertrain and are equipped with fast-charging technology. They also feature smart control and battery management systems designed to support commercial operations.
The arrival of the two electric trucks comes as EV adoption in Nepal expands beyond passenger and light commercial vehicles. Jagdamba Motors expects the models to provide electric alternatives for businesses operating heavy vehicles.
Jagdamba Motors is yet to announce the launch date, availability and prices of the X5000E electric tractor and dump truck in Nepal.
