KATHMANDU: Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise has received an engine and safety update in Nepal. The updated motorcycle is now equipped with a BS6-compliant engine and single-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).

Hansraj Hulaschand & Co, the authorized distributor of Bajaj motorcycles in Nepal, has started sales of the updated model. According to the supplied launch report, the motorcycle is priced at Rs 484,900.

The main update is the switch from the previous BS4 engine setup to a BS6-compliant fuel-injected engine. The motorcycle also gets single-channel ABS for improved braking safety. Other features remain unchanged.

The Avenger 220 Cruise is powered by a 219.89 cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, twin-spark DTS-i engine with fuel injection. It produces 19.03 PS of maximum power and 17.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox.

The motorcycle retains its classic cruiser design, with a low-slung seat, wide handlebars and an extended windshield. It also features a digital instrument cluster, halogen headlamp, telescopic front suspension with anti-friction bushes and twin rear shock absorbers.

Braking duties are handled by a front disc brake with single-channel ABS and a rear drum brake. The motorcycle continues to use spoke wheels.
