KATHMANDU: British bicycle brand Muddyfox is set to enter the Indian market in 2026. The company has appointed Ananta Ventures as its exclusive distributor in India.

Founded in the mid-1980s, Muddyfox grew alongside the rising popularity of off-road cycling in the United States. The brand later helped introduce the trend to the UK market.

In 1985, Muddyfox launched the “Courier,” an affordable model that gained strong popularity in urban areas. By 1987, the brand had secured around 50 percent of the UK mountain bike market, with annual sales of about 20,000 units. Sales increased rapidly, reaching close to 100,000 units per year within two years.

In its initial phase in India, Muddyfox will offer 18 SKUs across multiple segments and age groups. The lineup will include mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, women’s models, and children’s bicycles.

The company plans to expand its portfolio based on market demand. Muddyfox also intends to introduce a range of cycling accessories in the Indian market.
