KATHMANDU: Swedish freight technology company Einride AB plans to deploy 500 Tesla electric trucks across its North American operations. The rollout will begin in September 2026 and will be completed in phases over the next two years.
The deployment will triple Einride’s electric truck fleet. The trucks will operate across major freight corridors in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois and Georgia.
Einride said the deployment will support customers including Amazon. The rollout will be financed through third-party financing solutions.
The company said its AI-based monitoring system has recorded more than 19 million electric miles globally over seven years of commercial operations. Einride provides electric and autonomous freight services.
The 500-truck deployment is also part of Einride’s plan to convert around $800 million in potential long-term annual recurring revenue into active freight capacity.
Einride CEO Roozbeh Charli said the deployment demonstrates the company’s ability to scale its operations to meet customer demand. Tesla’s Director of Semi Dan Priestley said electric heavy-duty trucks can reduce operating costs through lower fuel and maintenance expenses while improving uptime.
The deployment is expected to be completed by 2028, making it one of the largest planned electric truck rollouts in North America.
