KATHMANDU: Traffic has been disrupted in the Daunne section of the Narayangadh-Butwal road under the East-West Highway due to frost and a cold wave.

According to the Area Police Office, Dumkibas, vehicles have not been able to operate in the Daunne area since Monday morning. Frost has made the road surface slippery, stopping vehicles from moving uphill and downhill.

Passengers have been stranded on the road for around 16 hours due to the traffic jam. Police said traffic can resume only after the impact of frost reduces.

The road section is currently under expansion and has been dug up in several places. Frost on the soil has made the road slippery, similar to conditions during the rainy season.

Police have urged travelers to use alternative routes until the situation improves.
