Galaxy E5 crossover to be launched in Nepal within a month

KATHMANDU: The much-anticipated Geely Galaxy E5 SUV has arrived in Nepal.

LRR Enterprises, the authorized distributor of Geely in the Nepali market, has said that the car will go on sale in the domestic market by mid-August. According to the company, the construction of a dedicated Geely showroom in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, is nearing completion. “We will formally unveil the car once our showroom becomes ready,” an official of LRR Group said.

Proton eMAS 7, the Malaysian rebadged version of Galaxy E5, has already been launched in the Nepali market. Galaxy E5 is doing pretty well in the international market. The crossover directly competes with the BYD Atto 3.

“We have already brought a few units of Galaxy E5. More units are on the way,” the official told MeroAuto. “We will formally launch sales within a month.”

The car is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5.7 million to Rs 6.7 million, depending on the variant.

The Galaxy E5 is equipped with Geely’s in-house developed Aegis Short Blade LFP battery. While the car comes in two variants, both feature the same 60.22 kWh battery, which has a certified WLTP range of 410 km. The car is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5.7 million to Rs 6.7 million, depending on the variant.

Built on Geely’s Global Modular Architecture, the Galaxy E5 is 4,615 mm long, 1,901 mm wide and 1,670 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. It comes equipped with features like a head-up display (HUD), a 10.2-inch floating LCD instrument cluster, a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a flat-bottom steering wheel.

According to the company, the crossover is built on a 400-volt architecture and integrates an intelligent drive system with 11 core components, including the electric motor and control unit.
