KATHMANDU: Suzuki Fronx, a compact SUV manufactured in India, has earned a 4-star safety rating in the latest crash tests conducted by the Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP).

According to Suzuki, the Fronx scored a total of 163.75 out of 193.8 points. It performed particularly well in preventive safety, where it earned 79.42 out of 85.8 points (92%), thanks to advanced features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and lane support systems.

In crashworthiness tests, the Fronx scored 76.33 out of 100 points (76%), with especially strong results in frontal collision protection.

The Fronx exported to Japan is equipped with six airbags and other advanced safety technologies which are not available in the models sold in India.

In the Nepali market, this safety rating significantly boosts its appeal among buyers looking for a stylish yet reliable subcompact SUV.

The Supreme Court recently decided to procure 61 units of Fronx through a competitive bidding process.
