KATHMANDU : A vehicle’s true strengths and weaknesses become clear only after spending extended time behind the wheel. To evaluate the BYD Atto 2 in real-world conditions, we drove the compact electric SUV for more than 750 kilometers across some of Nepal’s most demanding routes.
The journey began in Kathmandu, passing through Hetauda and Chitwan before reaching the Sunauli border via Narayanghat on the first day. On the second day, the route continued from Bhairahawa through Palpa to Pokhara. The final leg covered Pokhara, Gorkha and Nuwakot before returning to Kathmandu.
Throughout the trip, the Atto 2 was driven on a wide range of road conditions, including paved highways, gravel roads, Asian-standard highways, steep uphill and downhill sections, and sharp mountain bends. The vehicle was also tested during heavy rainfall, offering a comprehensive assessment of its real-world capability.
