KATHMANDU: The seven-seat MG Hector Tomahawk EV can be purchased in Nepal with a monthly installment of around Rs 50,000, equivalent to approximately Rs 1,667 per day.
G.O. Automobiles, the authorized distributor of JSW MG Motor India in Nepal, started selling the electric SUV on Saturday. The company has set a special price of Rs 5.799 million for the first 50 customers, against its regular price of Rs 6.199 million.
Under Nepal Rastra Bank’s current lending rules, buyers can finance up to 60% of an electric car’s price. They must pay the remaining 40% as a down payment.
Based on the discounted price, buyers need to pay Rs 2.3196 million upfront. The remaining Rs 3.4794 million can be financed through a seven-year loan.
At an assumed annual interest rate of 5.5%, the monthly installment comes to around Rs 49,999. This brings the daily cost to approximately Rs 1,667. The actual installment may vary depending on the bank’s interest rate and loan terms.
