MG S6 ready to battle three leading EVs in Nepal, launch just around the corner

KATHMANDU: MG Motor is preparing to expand its electric lineup in Nepal with the launch of the MG S6 SUV. The model will be brought by Paramount Motors, with sales scheduled to begin in May 2026.

According to company sources, the MG S6 has already been dispatched from China and is expected to arrive in Nepal within three weeks.

The MG S6 will compete in the growing mid-size electric SUV segment. Key rivals include BYD Sealion 7, Deepal S07, and Leapmotor C10. These models are currently priced between Rs 6.5 million and Rs 8 million in Nepal.

Dimensions

The MG S6 measures 4,708 mm in length, 1,912 mm in width, and 1,672 mm in height. It comes with a 2,835 mm wheelbase and 674 liters of boot space. In comparison, the BYD Sealion 7 is longer at 4,830 mm and offers a 2,930 mm wheelbase but has a smaller 520-liter boot.

The Deepal S07 measures 4,750 mm in length with a 2,900 mm wheelbase and 570-liter boot space, while the Leapmotor C10 comes with a length of 4,739 mm, a 2,825 mm wheelbase, and 581 liters of boot capacity.

Battery and range

The MG S6 is equipped with a 75 kWh LFP battery pack and delivers a WLTP range of up to 530 km. In comparison, rivals offer lower range figures.

The Deepal S07 comes with a 66.8 kWh battery and offers around 410 km range, while the BYD Sealion 7 gets a 71.8 kWh battery with about 440 km range. The Leapmotor C10 uses a 69.9 kWh battery and delivers around 420 km range.

Motor

Paramount Motors has not confirmed the motor specifications yet. However, the MG S6 is expected to feature either a 99 kW or 109 kW motor.

In comparison, the Leapmotor C10 offers a 160 kW motor, while the BYD Sealion 7 comes with a 100 kW motor and the Deepal S07 gets a 99 kW motor.

Price

Among current rivals, the BYD Sealion 7 is the most expensive at Rs 7.999 million. The Deepal S07 is priced at Rs 7.499 million, while the Leapmotor C10 costs Rs 7.2 million.

The MG S6 is expected to be priced lower than these models. It is likely to be launched at around Rs 6.5 million.
