KATHMANDU: Paramount Motors, the official distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, is preparing to launch the MG Windsor CUV in Nepal. The compact utility vehicle is expected to go on sale in the third week of May.
The Windsor, which is produced in India, will arrive at the customs point within a few days, according to Paramount Motors.
“The vehicle has been dispatched for Nepal. We plan to begin sales before the budget for the new fiscal year is announced,” Sunil Bahadur Chhetri, General Manager of Paramount Motors, told Mero Auto. “We are confident that the Windsor will perform strongly in the electric compact utility vehicle segment in Nepal.”
The government is presenting the budget for fiscal year 2025/26 on May 28.
The Windsor is immensely popular in India, thanks to its spacious cabin, modern features and advanced body design. A key factor in its popularity among rental companies has been the flexible battery leasing scheme which allows buyers to purchase the car without a battery.
The Windsor EV is equipped with a 38 kWh LFP battery and a 100 kW electric motor providing a peak torque of 200 Nm.
