Nepal Auto Journalists’ Association elects new executive committee

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Auto Journalists’ Association (JAM Nepal) has elected a new executive committee through unanimous decision at its fourth general assembly, held Friday and Saturday in Nagarkot, Bhaktapur.

Surendra Paudel has been elected as the new president.

He previously served as vice-president of the association and is affiliated with Arthik Aawaj Online Media.

Toyanath Paudel, who served as general secretary in the previous committee, has been elected vice-president. He runs Automobile Magazine and NepalAuto Online.

Prayas Shrestha has been unanimously elected general secretary. Affiliated with Shilapatra Online, he previously held the position of secretary.

Basanta Aryal takes over as secretary, while Hariprasad Gajurel has been elected treasurer. Aryal is associated with Nepali Paisa and Gajurel with MeroAuto Online.

The newly elected committee members include Saurabh Nepal (Nepal Drives), Amrit Chimoriya (Ratopati), and Kamala Bhandari (Capital Nepal).

Under the association’s revised constitution, the central executive committee will have 11 members. The elected committee will select two additional members, including the immediate past president. The committee’s term will be two years.

Outgoing president Sagar Gajurel congratulated the new leadership and handed over responsibilities, expressing confidence that the new team will work more effectively to protect members’ rights and strengthen their capacity. He also committed to remaining an active part of the association going forward.
